The Inn at Iris Meadows Pet Policy
The Inn at Iris Meadows welcomes quiet, non-aggressive canine companions when arrangements are made at the time of reservation. The Inn reserves the option of limiting the number and size of pets on a case by case basis. All pet guests must be completely free of fleas and ticks, be clean, well groomed and up to date on shots and vaccinations. Advance pet reservations are required since the inn has limited accommodations for pets. Our pet-friendly guest room is tiled and has rugs which can be rolled back during pet visits. The room has a private outside entrance. The inn's resident canine hostess is Scratch, a Hovawart look-a-like whose regal bearing belies her humble heritage. Scratch welcomes dog guests into her private fenced yard during breakfast hours.
For the comfort of all of our guests, the following pet policies apply:

Only dog guests who are quiet and non-aggressive toward other pets and people are invited to the inn. The dog owner guest hereby agrees that the inn is held harmless for any loss or injury or accident suffered by their dog(s) while a visitor at the inn. The dog owner also hereby agrees that any damage or injury caused by their dog to property, inn pets and /r other guest pets, or to any persons is the sole responsibility and liability of the pet owner.

Dog guests are not to be left unattended in the guest room at anytime, unless inclement weather precludes visits with Scratch during breakfast.

Please keep your dog on a leash when walking in the meadows. If you want your pet off-leash at the inn, please check with us, so we can direct you to our fenced dog run area.

Guests accompanied by pets are responsible for cleaning up after pets; a trash can for waste disposal are located by the garage. Please use the plastic bags provided.

All dogs must sleep in their crates, carriers, or a pet bed. Dogs are not allowed on furniture and rugs. Dogs are not allowed in the inn except in the designated pet friendly room. All public areas, including the front porches, are reserved for people guests only. Dogs coming and going on the back porch should be on a leash.

Under no circumstances may a guest pet be bathed in the guest room bathrooms. Please check with the innkeepers for the name of a nearby pet grooming service should your pet require bathing.

There is an additional fee of $35 per day for your pet, to be added to your accommodation charges, to cover the costs of additional cleaning. The room of pet guests is inspected after check out, with damages assessed and charged accordingly. If you are uncertain whether you dog may damage or soil the rug, please ask innkeepers for assistance in rolling the rug so that you may avoid being charged for professional cleaning, rug replacement, and lost revenue charges while the room is out of service due to cleaning and repairs.
NOTE: a written copy of the pet policy list will be signed by the guest prior to or upon check in.
